Christmas 2009

The Neus Family
(Okay, I know I'm being vain, but my butt really isn't that big. There's a wreath or a chair or something behind me that makes my butt look like Aunt Fanny's in the movie Robots.)

My beautiful girls!

The Neus cousins. (Pay no attention to Hunter in the back strangling his sister!)

Sydney, Ivy & Sommer at Grandma Peterson's house.

Aubrey, Aunt Lainie & Mackenzie at the dance recital! I am so lucky to have my own sweet neices in dance class with me this year! These girls stole the show - each in her own special way!

Chloe & Brian decorating Gingerbread Houses. Yeah, her shirt is really telling it like it is!

Christmas came and went so quickly this year! We had a terrific time visiting with family and enjoying a break from school and lessons. We spent the few weeks before Christmas making Gingerbread Houses, dancing in our studio's Christmas Dance Production, going on a "hayride" around the neighborhood, a slumber party with friends, orchestra concert, shopping and basically just trying to keep it all together. (Some day I WILL lose my mind.)

Christmas Eve was spent at my parent's house with the whole gang - 20 cousins ranging in age from 14 to 6 months. Yeah, it was crazy. It always is. But we had so much fun! The kids acted out the Nativity and got to open their 1 Christmas Eve present.

The kids woke us up around 5:00 or so Christmas morning. They were so excited to see what Santa brought! Everyone was pleased with their gifts this year. Santa did good. After making a mess in our family room we drove over to my Grandma Peterson's house. We do a big family breakfast over there every year. It was nice to catch up with my cousins, aunts and uncles. We had a special treat this year - my brother Ryan and my Uncle Brian sang for us. It was great!

We went over to Michael and Sandi's in the afternoon and ate and opened more presents. The Neus cousins total 16 but it's just as crazy as 20. (Once you hit 10 kids under the age of 14 it's all the same.) The kids had fun playing with their cousins and seeing Grandma and Grandpa Neus. Now that they've moved to Eagar we don't get to see them as much as we would like!

We ended the day at my parent's house again. We ate and opened the last of the gifts. It was a crazy day. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without all of the chaos! I love it!
