Sommer decided she wanted to run for a Student Council office at her school for next year. She chose to run for Historian - which sounded great to me (better than secretary or treasurer or president or even vice president). So we spent some fun times making posters and printing out stickers (thanks Aunt Kristen for your great handwriting skills!). But we were a little nervous after she gave her speech. The school video tapes the kids a few days before the election and plays the video taped speeches on the morning of the voting. Well Sommer had the cutest speech prepared. She did a great job practicing it at home! But when they turned on that video camera she freaked out a little. I'm not sure why because she is a great performer. She has never been nervous about getting up in front of people and doing anything. Anyway, she got through about 3 sentences of her speech, started stuttering, got flustered and ran out of the room. The teacher video taping the speech assured me it wasn't too bad and that she couldn't re-do her speech. So we just had to let it go and hope that nobody would notice that her 3 minute speech was only 15 seconds. Apparently nobody cared - they voted for Sommer despite her lack of public speaking skills. Way to go Sommer! What a fun year 6th grade will be!

This morning the girls talked me into taking them to Krispy Kreme. I am not a doughnut person - neither is Brian. We're not sure where all of these girls came from with their constant need for sugar - especially doughnuts on Saturday mornings. For some reason they are under the impression that this is a standard Saturday morning breakfast staple. I think it all started with my running out of groceries by the end of the week and heading to Bashas' first thing Saturday morning. We would just naturally gravitate to the doughnut section and I would let them choose which ever one they wanted. That was fun. Now it's gotten a little annoying. They've come to expect it. In fact this morning the twins got every body into matching outfits and into the Suburban and started honking the horn for me. Krispy Kreme just re-opened and they were "dying" (Chloe's words) of hunger and needed to have a doughnut from there. We only stood in line for 20 minutes. Fun times!

Hooray! We're almost done with 7th grade - thank goodness!! These are some pictures of Hunter at his orchestra concert. I've been able to play the piano all year with his orchestra and it's been alot of fun. Espesically the 2nd and 3rd hour rehearsals with those fun 7th graders! And we can't forget the Christmas Assembly in the gym. Those are fond memories - I hope he never forgets! I know I won't! We're looking forward to next year. 8th grade has to be better than 7th grade, right? Right?

Last Friday Kristen and I were able to be in the studio audience on Sonoran Living Live for their Mother's Day program. It was such a blast! We spent most of the time cracking up at each other and trying to look serious when we knew the camera was going to pan our way. It was alot of fun and I can't wait to do it again!
