Wicked 2012

For Christmas the girls and I all got tickets to go see Wicked.  We were so excited!!  My mom and Kristen both got tickets, also.  We all have been anticipating February 15th, opening day, for almost 2 months!  It was so much fun and definitely worth waiting for!  The show was the best I've seen yet - I loved the actors!!  It's so much fun to share my love of theatre with my girls!

Chloe turned 11 this month!  She is growing up way too fast!!  She is wearing a size 8 1/2 shoe and is almost as tall as me!  For her birthday this year she woke up to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast and a new church outfit (her birthday fell on a Sunday).  After church we went to grandma and grandpa Olsen's house to celebrate with the Olsen cousins.  We took Chloe out of school the Friday before her birthday and went to a movie and lunch with both sets of grandparents!  What a fun day! And then last, she took two of her best friends out to lunch and to paint pottery at As You Wish.  Her party just kept going and going and going!!

Chloe just got her first pair of pointe shoes!  She is so excited to begin pointe.  I'm so proud of her and how determined she is.  She is such a hard worker and always has such a great attitude!  She is the peacemaker in our family and is kind to everyone.  I'm so lucky to be her mom!!

January 2012

We celebrated Lauryn's 9th birthday on the 15th of January.  The only thing she wanted this year was a new head of hair for her American Girl Doll and Texas "sheep" cake.  So we sent her doll, Lucy, off to the American Girl Hospital and she came back with a beautiful head of new hair (actually it was a new head altogether - but Lauryn doesn't know that).  And I baked her a Texas "sheep" cake.  We were planning on celebrating her birthday with the Neus family on her actual birthday, but Brian wasn't feeling well so we stayed home and celebrated just with our little family.  It was very nice.  The following Monday there was no school so we had pedicures and manicures set up with two of her best friends with lunch to follow.  It was a lot of fun!

Lucy is finally home from the hospital!!

We also had "Crazy Hair Day" at the school.  Chloe and Lauryn talked me into some pretty crazy hair do's for them!!

The only other "big" thing to happen here at the Neus house was that we got our house painted.  Hooray!!  Other than that, things have been status quo.  Brian had two more rounds of chemo and still is having very few side effects.  Mostly he's just feeling run down and tired for a few days right after.  He amazes me.  He hardly ever complains.  He is such a wonderful man.  I am so lucky!
